CASCADE Project

August 10, 2025 josephkingsleyy@gmail.com No comments yet

As part of our commitment to improving child nutrition in Nigeria, Impact Nutrition Africa Initiative (INAI) partnered with the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) to implement the CAtalyzing Strengthened policy aCtion for heAlthy Diets and resiliencE (CASCADE) across four states: Kebbi, Nasarawa, Jigawa, and Bauchi.

The project focused on capacity building of Private Service Providers (PSPs) involved in the National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme. A total of 240 PSPs were trained by the INAI team using a comprehensive training manual developed in-house. The sessions incorporated a blend of participatory teaching methods, ensuring practical learning and retention.

Each participant completed pre- and post-training evaluations, which showed measurable improvement in their knowledge and ability to deliver more nutritious meals in schools. The CASCADE Project represents a critical step toward enhancing the nutritional quality of school feeding programs and promoting better health outcomes for children in underserved communities.
