Feed a Mouth Project – Olosun Village, Oyo State.

August 10, 2025 josephkingsleyy@gmail.com No comments yet

In December 2018, Impact Nutrition Africa Initiative (INAI) implemented the Feed a Mouth Project in Olosun Village, Oyo State. This project was designed to improve the nutritional well-being of under-five children and their mothers through targeted education and support.

Key activities included:

  • Nutrition Education: Training sessions for mothers on breastfeeding practices, safe complementary feeding, and overall infant and young child nutrition.
  • Nutrition-Sensitive Interventions: Deworming of children aged 3 to 12 years to support better nutrient absorption and overall health.
  • Food Support: Distribution of essential food items to 100 vulnerable households within the community to improve immediate food security.

The Feed a Mouth Project contributed to enhancing maternal and child nutrition knowledge, reducing the burden of parasitic infections, and addressing short-term hunger in the community. It remains a vital part of INAI’s commitment to supporting vulnerable populations through sustainable, community-based nutrition interventions.
